 SHEIK IBRA FATY MBACKÉ was born in the fifteenth day of Gamou 1289 Hegira (between 1862 and 1863) at Porokhane from SERIGNE MAME MOR ANTA SALLY MBACKE and SOKHNA FATY ISSA DIOP. He is also known, for a good number of people, as MAME THIERNO BIRAHIM. Nevertheless, the name of “Ndamal Darou” ended by imposing itself .Obviously, that’s very telling, because MAME THIERNO BIRAHIM was somehow a man of small stature but was endowed with a beautiful and outstanding charisma, and was always in a good mood. His birth coincided with the colonial pacification of French Western African Colonies (AOF). As a faithful lieutenant of his prominent brother SERIGNE TOUBA next to whom he made his humanities, MAME THIERNO, as SERIGNE MOUSSA KA reminded in his poems, supported and shouldered SERIGNE TOUBA in the same way AARON had done for his own brother, the prophet MOSES.

 Ahmad Bamba wrote the following verse in reference to his exile: “I set out for journey on Saturday the 18th of safar, to engage in the service of the messenger of God. Kharijtu yawma-s-sabti za mini ‘ashar, likhidmatil mukhtari fii shari safar.” The Shaykh , cognizant of this mission , as the “Assistant “ to the Messenger of God (pbuh),signed in the Divine world, and he was determined to undertake the journey: in other words, he had to “provoke” the French colonial power, through whom, he had to fulfill the Prophecy, as early as the 4th of Safar. Allah, having accepted the covenant that the Shaykh made him , prolonged the departure date until the 18th of Safar. According to the close companions of the Shaykh , his spiritual resolve could be equated to that of the five greatest prophets, known as Ulul’ Azm. This means that once these powerful spiritual men decide to undertake a project, regardless of its magnitude, God will bring their resolve to their satisfaction. The five greatest prophets of God are Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them). For this reason, the Shaykh wanted to confront the French on the 4th of Safar. He wrote in his journal: “And God, instilled in the hearts of those who were the servant’s captivation in 1895, to exile him towards horizons where he obtained and secured fathomless graces beyond any attempt to explore.”

Cette émission se propose de vous apporter, régulièrement, (en live ou en différée) une analyse, théologique, philosophique et sociopolitique, pointue sur des sujets d’actualité (l’Islam, le Mouridisme en particulier).
Des thèmes variés seront abordés dans une optique didactique ; il peut s’agir d’aborder un sujet sous un angle historique ou sociologique en dehors de toute passion inhérente au traitement à chaud de toute actualité : le but est de dépassionner le débat. L’émission se diffuse sous forme d’un exposé ou d’une conférence, à la suite de cette diffusion les internautes et/ou auditeurs auront la possibilité d’intervenir sur le thème traité, en exprimant leurs points de vue (en accord ou en désaccord). Un Médiateur se proposera de conduire les débats et les interventions. C’est à l’occasion du second rendez-vous que l’exposant ou le conférencier fera la synthèse de l’émission précédente ainsi que les débats et les interventions qu’elle a suscités. En conséquence, cette synthèse déterminera le choix du thème du jour, qui sera un éclaircissement et un complément d’information ou un approfondissement d’une opinion, idée ou d’une pensée exprimées lors de l’émission précédente ou de ses dérivées (Médiation).

 Serigne Ibrahima Mbacke is the sixth son of Khadimou Rassoul. He was born in 1912 in Daroul Alim Al Khabir or Ndam (where the Al Azhar Touba University is being symbolically built today). His mother Sokhna Fatma, was originally from the famous elite Mauritanian tribe, the Dawalhajj (an offshoot of the Quraish, Prophet Muhammad's tribe).
